                   Coprolites and other Disgusting Fossils

The Dallas Paleontological Society will meet next on Wednesday, October 8th, at 7PM Central time, in the Boonesville Auditorium (Room H125) of the Ellison Miles Building (Bldg H) at Brookhaven Campus of Dallas College, 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch.  Diane Tran of Billings Productions will speak on “The Three Ps”, a kid-safe discussion of coprolites and fossils of urination and regurgitation.

Diane double-majored in art and design (emphasis on 2D animation) and geosciences (emphasis on paleontology) at Collin College and UT Dallas, then earned a degree in 2D animation from the Art Institute of Dallas.  She is an illustrator and paleo-artist, former Disney animator, and art and science educator.  Diane has been a member of the Dallas Paleontological Society since 2018, and served as editor for the DPS newsletter, The Fossil Record, from 2020 through 2021.  She works as an illustrator, graphic designer, paleo-artist, and scientific advisor for Billings Productions (aka The Dinosaur Company), who make life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs and other animals for zoos, museums, and theme parks.

DPS meetings are always free and open to the public.  Invite anyone interested in science and fossils.  Members can bring snacks and food to share, and the society provides water or sodas.  After Diane’s talk, we will have a Fossil ID session.  Bring in those mystery fossils with notes on location, formation, and other useful info.  Michelle will have a camera and microscope hooked up to the projector.  Let's solve some mysteries together!  The meeting will be streamed on Zoom at: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83096250920. If the link does not work, start Zoom and enter the meeting ID  of 830 9625 0920, then wait for the host to let you in.
