Ash Grove Quarry. 900 Gifco Road, Midlothian TX. Saturday, December 10th, 8 am. This is a members only trip and limited to 25 people. The quarry is located in the Austin Chalk-Eagle Ford Shale contact zone northwest of Midlothian.Target finds are marine vertebrate: Cretodus, Ptychodus, Squalicorax and other shark teeth. Other possibilities include occasional mosasaur, turtle and fish material. . I would like to remind everyone to wear closed toe shoes (ankle high boots are best). Directions: US 67 South, just north of Midlothian exit towards Midlothian Pkway/Dove Lane, make right on Gifco Road. (You will be able to see quarry). Meet at the last parking lot off Gifco on your right just pass a tire recycle center.

The DPS is a group of professional and amateur paleontologists that want to exchange information, interact, and continue their education in paleontology. We meet once a month on the second Wednesday evening of the month at Brookhaven College, Building H.
